Landscapes

I don’t regard myself as a landscape photographer; most of my photography is dedicated to portraits and street scenes.

But travelling around New Zealand and the world it is impossible not to notice and be touched by the variety and beauty of landscapes, or occasionally the power of nature.

Included here a brief selection of scenes that struck a chord with me; and as you will see the weather doesn’t have the be ‘postcard beautiful’ for the landscape to be.

Ísafjörður, Iceland; after a brief dry spell rain is drifting in again

Mount Aspiring NP, New Zealand; gateway to heaven

Kinderdijk, Netherlands; big skies as seen by 17th century landscape painters

Picos d”Europa, Spain; chapel for a passing pilgrim

Ilulissat, Greenland; midnight sun

Ambae, Vanuatu; smoke cloud from the 2018 volcano eruption

Whangarai Heads; New Zealand; sailing away into a dark night ahead
